X (form. Twitter)

A lot of politically motivated right-wingers. For the most part, however, it is harmless or simply more straightforward views. Unless a politically left-wing individual is using an account, there is rarely any blocking. Especially not just because of language and/or origin, as it is the case with other networks (Bluesky and Fediverse for example).
If you’re looking for constructive feedback, Twitter/X is currently a more effective platform for creators such as artists and writers.

Cons: X wants to train its in-house AI Grok with the content from X. This includes images, text, audio, …
At the moment there is still the option of opting out, but rumor says that this option will disappear completely.

Bluesky

Mostly politically left-wing radicalized, often begging for money, who block someone without hesitation because of language and/or origin, avatar or a simple word in your bio. Gossip spread by left-wing activists is believed without hesitation, no matter how bizarre it may seem.

Cons: Unlike other networks, the protocol used by Bluesky is completely open and sends everything when requested. This also includes images, text, audio, … regardless of whether you have “protected” your account, blocked the user who asks for the data, … or not. This allows the AI bot from Google, OpenAI, ChatGPT, ImageSift, Grok, … full access to all images, text, audio, etc. for training, which crawl the whole internet like a search engine. The only way to block these is the posibility, to block their User-Agent, which is not possible with Bluesky!
The inflationary use of triggers such as “transphobic”, “Nazi”, “fascist”, etc. is also just as usual on Bluesky as the spreading of untruths via the public blocklists as well as the public crying about the lists they are on and the gaslighting followed by libel of the accounts, that created the lists.

Even though Bluesky has now reinforced their moderation team, they still can’t keep up with all the reports because, as with Twitter back then, when it was in the hands of left-wing CEOs, the report feature gets abused for every little thing.

Anyone who “flees” from Twitter because of the AI is in any case wrong with Bluesky, as your creations are even less protected there.

The Fediverse

Almost same as Bluesky.

Cons: It is not guaranteed that images, texts, … will actually be deleted everywhere if you delete them on your own instance, as administrators are permitted to automatically ignore “deletion requests”. In addition, around 95% of the servers within the network are operated by private individuals, which means that any legal justification for publishing artworks is completely nullified. The creator of artworks, texts, … cannot ensure that their copyright will be respected, as there is no direct contact person for the whole network.

However, the biggest disadvantage with the Fediverse is the arrogant, selfish, narcissistic attitude of many administrators, as already metioned in other posts on this site, who want to apply their rules to every server. Especially with large instances, it becomes obvious when other instances are suddenly completely cut off from all users of the instance because the administrator is unable to separate his personal opinion from professional moderation.

Another big disadvantage is, that the network is commonly known as “Mastodon”. The software that allows access to the Fediverse with the lowest functionality.

Threads

Threads has similar problems since it is connected to the Fediverse. Even if it does a lot of things better. At least a few thousand Fediverse instances have already decided to react in a Wild West-like fashion and block all communication with the platform due to the owner of Threads, Meta.

Cons: Threads appears a little chaotic and empty in places. In addition, account blocks are linked to Instagram and blocked accounts are automatically blocked on both platforms. You can judge that however you like. Many see it as an advantage.

Facebook and Instagram

Well. No real audience to target because it hardly plays a role anymore in favor of Threads. They are basically just ghost towns that are flooded with bots.
